Abraham has a gift. He is a rising young Kenyan star in the golf world. But it does not come without coaching, hard work and discipline. His gift has been noticed by golfers here in our community and he has played in major tournaments in South Africa, Botswana and Kenya.
Abraham is the face of a fundraising event to be hosted by the Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort in Naivasha on December 8th, this year. We are grateful for their participation and support. The event, Driven By Hope, will be a 9-hole golf tournament followed by a brunch and silent auction. The goal is to give 100% of the proceeds from the event to support the school fee fund for poor families. This will be a double benefit - the school at any one time carries a 50% budget deficit due to unpaid fees, so this will help balance the budget and allow students to remain at school rather than being sent home for lack of school fees.
We need donations for the silent auction and cash to purchase items here in Kenya. Popular items will be Kindles, Iphones (make sure they are unlocked for use in Africa!), digital cameras, laptops, Ipad notebooks (I will bid on one of these!), computer games, golf clubs, and other gadgets Americans have in abundance that Africans would love to have!
Please let me know if you can help. I will be in the United States for approximately 5 weeks mid-August until September 20. Contact me! email@example.com Better yet, plan a trip to Kenya to play golf in the Driven By Hope tournament, and I'll organize a great safari tour for you!
