YOU! Bring a team of family or friends
If you are called to come to Africa to help, your calling will equip you! Many have said "but what would I do? I'm not qualified..." You ARE qualified. Qualified to come alongside our students and workers to assist in work projects.
Help with projects like youth sports camps, painting or construction, woodworking, or installing gutters on the buildings so we can harvest rain water, teaching special topics, landscaping, etc.
Of course, you will see more of Africa than St. Andrews. Your journey here is with a purpose, but you also will go on safari to see the wildlife, explore the Great Rift Valley, go for a boat ride on Lake Naivasha to see the Hippos, shop in the Masai Market, and be treated to a "nyama choma" at Eagles Wings around a campfire.
Many who would like to come say "but what will I DO?" We answer "you don't always have to "do", just come and "be". Some say "why don't I just send the money and stay home?" There is a concept called a ministry of presence. You and the students and community of St. Andrews will learn from each other and the friendships forged are well worth the trip! The encouragement of your presence means a great deal. It is very humbling and amazing for our school to think that you would spend all that money and time to come to JUST BE WITH THEM.
Short term teams must have a team leader and are responsible for the costs
incurred in getting to Kenya and for lodging and meals and ground
transportation. The teams are coordinated by our International Partnership
Facilitator and all arrangements are made through her. Lodging is at Eagles
Wings, a guesthouse situated above Lake Naivasha from where you can see St.
Andrews - approximately 7 miles away. In addition each team is asked to bring
funds to put toward the materials for the project selected. For more
information, see the CONTACT US page.
